Guild News

At the EGM held 18th March 2017 the sad decision was taken, by a quorum of members who attended, that the Parchment Craft Guild should be wound up with the aim that this will be completed by 31st December 2017. A letter will be sent to all members outlining the decisions made about the realisation and disposal of the assets in the next few weeks.

There will be one more examination intake in September 2017 and anyone wishing to submit a paper for marking MUST inform the Registrar by 1st June 2017 of their intention to submit, so that a decision can be made. If no intent is submitted their paper will not be included for marking. If there are no papers to mark the Guild finances will be wound down sooner.

Group Public Liability Insurance for Guild - The Guild now has group public liability insurance. This    covers all Guild members and volunteers who help at Guild events by carrying out tasks at the request of    the Guild. It does not cover members' or volunteers' personal activities. It is up to individual members to    check out and organise their own personal cover. As a guild we cannot make any recommendations; we    should warn you that some members who teach at home have reported that they have been told that their    household insurances may be invalidated by taking out this type of cover.

Guild Exams

Deadline for submission of papers for the final round of Guild exams is Monday, 4 September 2017.

The Guild Techniques Book has proved to be very popular and a great help to members taking their exams. It is also a great aid to perfecting your techniques even if you are not taking the exams. There are still copies available. Please contact Kingfisher Crafts if you would like to order a copy.
